Having missed his Belfast Show in 2013, this was one of the Gig’s I have been looking forward to for years, with “Hevy Devy” finally returning to Belfast’s popular Limelight 1 on June 13th, I was looking forward to it from the moment it was announced, arriving 30 minutes before the doors were due to open, the crowds were queued as far as the eye could see and within minutes of opening the venue was packed tight, Cork Based Rockers “Mindriot” took to the stage to provide support and to get the crowd hyped up and were received well by the crowd.
With a brief intermission and a rather dramatic opening, Devin lived up to the name of his album, and transcended my expectations with an audio-visual experience that was unmatched.
As we got into the later tracks classics such as “Ziltoid Goes Home” and “March of the Poozers” from 2014’s Z2 emerged pounding the air into submission with groundbreaking riffs and machine gun-esque drum kicks
It can safely be said that Devin brought Tight Riffs, Pumping Lyrics, and a setlist tighter than the crowd and certainly did not disappoint
Huge Thanks to Freddy Palmer at Insideout Management for letting us cover the event.
